Reporting directly to the MD and sole responsibility for the operation, administration and technical support of the company networks, servers, email and network security systems, documenting current processes and mapping future requirements.In charge of day-to-day running of ERP system including all reporting needs via Crystal Reports, software upgrades, user training and data storage/backup. In full control of reporting requirements and very knowledgeable of Crystal Reports. Design/maintain Lan/Wan infrastructure on multiple sites including Sales staff working from home/on the road via VPN.Communicate requirements with Directors and Department Heads.Manage supplier relationships.Main achievementsServer Virtualisation – Using Windows Server 2012 Hyper V with Veeam backup and off-site storage for disaster recovery. Consolidating multiple servers onto one and creating a backup server in another building. Virtual servers range from Windows server 2003 to Windows server 2012.PC roll-out project – Purchase of new PCs for sales and accounts staff with the older PCs rolled out to the shop floor to allow booking of jobs online and remove written documentation.ERP PCB manufacturing system upgrades outside office hours to allow real-time access to data and improve efficiencies within the factory.Completed project to move emails from PC based outlook/live mail system to office365.Produced on-line displays of factory throughput via Crystal Reports displayed on large screens throughout the factory.Virtualisation of Linux server.CompetenciesMaintenance of Windows 2003/2008/2012 servers including AD, DHCP, DNS.Extensive use of Hyper-V and Veeam.Excellent knowledge of all windows operating systems from Windows 95 right up to Server 2012.Knowledge of SQL Server to apply updates and fix bugs, and Crystal Reports to produce complex reports from data. Broad understanding of communications/networks including LAN/WAN TCP/IP.Control of switches to keep LAN functioning.
