I am a Pricing Division Senior Field Representative for Property Insurance Association of Louisiana. PIAL is an established, non profit company in business for over 130 years and is responsible for setting the fire, wind and contents insurance rates on buildings throughout the state of Louisiana. As a field representative, I am the face of PIAL to the business community as well as to the insurance agents which write policies in the state of Louisiana. While at PIAL I have consulted with both insurance agents as well as business owners on a daily basis in order to gain access to commercial properties in order to accurately determine requested buildings' fire, wind, and contents insurance rates. Part of my job includes communicating with business owners/insurance agents; determining square footage, construction, and any applicable risks of a given building; analyzing blueprints and building specifications; reading sprinkler system schematics; over the road travel between buildings; and data input of all information pertinent to each inspection completed. My job is extremely important because it helps identify potential losses associated with fire and wind damage to buildings. By consulting with customers and providing quality reports and assessments, I am able to save both business owners and insurance agencies money. I am responsible for 10 parishes in Northwest Louisiana and have handled all requests for inspection within an average 14-day turnaround. I was asked by my supervisors in September of 2014 to go to Marlton, NJ to train with ISO/Verisk for specialization in Commercial Underwriting field surveys.

Shreveport, Louisiana Area

I am responsible for field underwriting surveys in the Northwest Louisiana territory. Verisk contracts my services out for risk surveys generated through ISO/Verisk within the state of Louisiana. My territory spans 10 Louisiana Parishes, and I have routinely assisted other field representatives throughout the state of Louisiana and also in Mississippi. I have consistently provided quality underwriting reports on commercial risks within an established 30 day turnaround period for all risks, while maintaining the same high level of excellence for my commercial building inspections for Property Insurance Association of Louisiana. Job responsibilities include surveying commercial risks, providing construction, occupancy descriptions, liability issues present on location, and all other pertinent information relating to the underwriting of risks. Job tasks include securing appointments with building owners; gathering construction information; assessing property for liability issues or other special hazards; drawing field sketches of properties in order to provide underwriters with the most accurate representation of property orientation and layout; photographing buildings, hazards, protection systems, and items recommended for improving the risk; interviewing business owners to obtain occupancy information such as building history, nature of risk present, management practices, contingency plans, crime history, etc.

Benton, La

I am the owner or 5:19 Music, a music academy in Benton, LA. I teach private and group lessons for children and adults. Classes include beginning piano, intermediate piano, rhythm exploration, and beginning guitar. In order to build my client base, I have had to utilize social media marketing and have a very loyal client base who has helped spread excitement about my music lessons through word of mouth.

While at One Life Church, I was the Minister of Music & Students. The job required me to organize youth group functions for middle school and high school age students; teach weekly Bible studies on Wednesday nights; sing and play guitar while leading our church's praise band on Sunday mornings; and participate in community outreach projects in the Port Vincent, St Amant, Walker, and Gonzales communities.

Baton Rouge, Louisiana Area

I worked as a server at Ninfa's Mexican restaurant in 2010-2011. I handled on average 20 tables daily and took food and drink orders. Some of my job requirements were to take food orders, input orders into a POS computer, and then bring those orders to the table. In this role I had to be quick on my feet and able to remember and replicate orders quickly and accurately. I also had to manage cash & credit card payments. Working as a server helped to develop customer service and sales traits that make me successful today.
