After obtaining first class honours in Engineering and Management at Christ's College, Cambridge, I had an international career in engineering and project management, including 7 years working in Australia, Canada, USA, Zambia and Germany, before becoming Managing Director of the IMC Group of engineering and consulting companies in the energy and natural resources industry. I was awarded the OBE for services to International Trade in 2002 and completed the sale of the IMC Group companies in 2015, remaining a Director of IEA Environmental Projects Ltd.Now mainly retired I am a director of Marion Court (Tooting) Management Company Ltd., a Past-President of the Old Felstedian Society, a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Fuellers and a member of the Hurlingham Club where I play tennis.In the last 3 years I have been writting and publishing books including five volumes of 'The Colourful Life of an Engineer'. My lastest book 'The Story of Willy Lott and his Cottage', published in October 2023, contains fascinating historical details of many of John Constable's famous paintings of Willy Lott's House, his favourite subject, and puts them in the context of life on a small farm in Flatford in the 18th and 19th centuries.
