Auckland Council is Australasia’s largest geographical local body organisation.This “Super City” encompasses a wide range of different facilities and operations delivering services to the people of Auckland. Employing over 8000 staff it is a challenging and ever changing environment combining effective and practical security solutions with the needs to the core business of delivering quality services to the public.Leading the Auckland Council security team I am responsible for the management of security assets, staff and public safety within those facilities and security best practise across the property portfolio.This role involves the development of security solutions for diverse sites, policy and procedure implementation, investigations and senior security leadership in this field.I have led and implemented projects involving system integration with HR databases, centralisation of remote CCTV viewing, consolidation of access control systems, introduction of pedestrian control gates to facilitate the opening up of more open staff work space environments, integrated visitor management, strategic road map development and security system technical standards and specifications to ensure and deliver consistency of product and performance. I provide leadership regarding best practice across the organisation and ensure security delivery is to agreed standards while building strategic working relationships with key business partners.
