My job responsibilities have developed in the course of my time here. I recently finished Solidworks PDM parts migration and BOM restructuring for one of our manufacturing lines. It has greatly expanded my knowledge about the intricacies of Solidworks PDM, BOM structure and management, reverse engineering and parts reconstructions. The project deliverables were met and on time. It was a project that required over 5 months of work and was very rewarding. My other duties included design and design for manufacturing of various line fixturing, test fixturing and parts reverse engineering, supplier communications and logistics, parts cataloging, and failure analysis.

Worked with the Advanced Technologies/Defense branch of nLight Photonics as an mechanical engineering intern. Provided help with product research and development by testing product, designing test fixtures for manufacturing line and assisting senior engineers with special tasks. - Designed and built test fixtures for research and development - Contacted and pursued use of company and outside machine shops - Worked and collaborated with senior mechanical engineers, laser engineers and physicists - Was assigned weekly design projects was expected to be independently motivated - Problem solved with engineering technicians and line workers to improve manufacturing processes - Worked independently for extended periods on testing of laser assemblies requiring strict procedural adherence and documentation of results - Internship required working in clean room environment - Documentation control at nLight was achieved through use of Solidworks PDM (Check in-Check out), BOM, title blocks, revision blocks, archiving under specific product project names, and purchase request documentation. - As part of duties, product validation was required on products which included the testing of integrated laser assemblies(ILAs) through use of oscilloscopes, spectrometers, laser beam profilers, optical power and energy meters, multi-meters, TEC controllers, and et cetera. Acquired data was documented through Excel spreadsheets. - Mechanical testing included pressure testing of UV and temperature cure epoxies (puck testing) and temperature/climate testing
