We have a brain, but does it think, or more importantly, is it the source of intelligence?According to a version of the New Penguin English Dictionary, intelligence can be defined as (1) the ability to learn, apply knowledge, or think abstractly; (2) the act of understanding. So, in answering this opening question, we must ask ourselves the following; (1) Does our brain have the ability to learn? (2) Can it apply knowledge? (3) Is our pink (grey) matter capable of thinking abstractly? (4) And finally, can this mass in our heads understand?A quick “yes” to all four of these questions may satisfy our egos or justify our limitations, but is a “yes” to any or all of these questions logical, possible, realistic, or sensible?We, at MindTron, contend that a quantitative “no” is, by far, more logical, probable, realistic, and sensible.Currently I am the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the MindTron Corporation and the MindTron Institute.The MindTron Institute is planned to be a global resource for intellectual enhancement of children, including brain-injured children. We plan to build a world-class facility with state-of-the-art assessment and investigative equipment and engage expert professional staff. We will provide in-house programs for intellectual enhancement, conduct research in human intelligence, and communicate our findings worldwide.Our web site, www.mindtroninstitute.ca, is currently being developed.
