I obtained a natural curiosity for macro-economic events and that led towards my passion for investing. Apart from the fact that I follow economic trends closely I do great due diligence by reading the annual reports of the public traded company that sparked my interest within my circle of competence. I then substract the most important fact and figures relevant to the business and industry. such as do they have a competitive advantage, how is their past performance and what are their plans for the future. I then perform a discounted cashflow analysis which % I determine on the past and present growh of the company and the growth of the industry. after I have done the relevant calculations I insist upon a margin of safety so I buy the stock below fair value. If one of the key requirements are not met, I either wait or disregard the company as a whole. patience and a long-term view are essential to succeed. The investors that have inspired me to invest in such a manner are Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, Ray Dalio, and Charlie Munger.
