About Brian M. Davis, Ph.D.

My career has focused on practical applications of cell and molecular biology, including cell and gene therapy, stem cell biology, forensics and biodefense. For the past 23 years, I have primarily worked in an industrial setting, developing new technology, protocols and processes on internally funded and government funded programs that were often multidisciplinary in nature. I have secured in excess of $14 million of funding for my research from FDA, NIH, DARPA, FNIH, NIJ, IARPA and GE, building external partnerships and collaborations. The outcomes of my programs led to new intellectual property, technology transfer for commercialization, and out-licensing, 35 peer reviewed publications and 13 patents. My experience includes AAV and lentiviral vector manufacturing, CAR-T manufacturing, stem cells, cell expansion in bioreactors, DNA delivery, and new technologies for forensics and biodefense. I have a successful track record in proposing, leading and delivering on biotechnology focused projects and on complex multidisciplinary projects.My strengths include technical and professional leadership, strategic and analytic thinking, effective technical and personal communication, solid emotional intelligence, a drive for process excellence, and strong analytical and presentation skills.
