Brian is currently an Assurance Principal with BDO serving the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. With 23 years in public accounting, and a partner/principal since 2015, Brian has a proven ability to lead financial audits across a broad spectrum of companies, including large, public and private multinational enterprises.Prior to BDO, Brian was a Partner in PwC’s Trust Solutions practice, specializing in the insurance sector. He served PwC’s priority insurance clients in Los Angeles, New York and Houston. This also included a two-year secondment to the PwC National Quality Organization within the Auditing Services team, as well as attending PwC's global leadership development program.Brian has deep experience auditing and advising his clients on complex business, regulatory and reporting matters. Having been involved in several projects involving multi-billion-dollar transactions, such as M&A and reinsurance, he has experience in complex accounting (e.g., risk transfer) and control matters, including carve outs, deal integration, IPO readiness, and insurance run-off blocks. He has also participated in SOX readiness assessments and ICFR optimization projects. Over the years Brian has developed significant knowledge of public accounting and audit practices, procedures and reporting standards, including SEC, US GAAP, US GAAS, ISAs, and has been involved in projects auditing and advising on significant accounting standard changes.Brian focused on building trusting client relationships and identifying opportunities to leverage the deep industry expertise of his firm to provide timely and relevant insights to companies. He was active in providing expertise and industry insights on audit best practices and development of overall audit strategy to ensure highest levels of quality, efficiency and client service.Brian is passionate about leadership development and is a proud Trustee of A Thousand Summers, a nonprofit with a mission to change kids’ lives through transformative summer camp experiences by bridging the financial gap and making camp accessible to youth with diverse backgrounds.Brian earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He is a CPA licensed in California, New York, Houston and Hawaii, and is a member of the AICPA.
