Brian Mac Namee is an associate professor in the School of Computer Science at University College Dublin. At UCD he is site director for the SFI Insight Centre for Data Analytics Research and co-Director for the SFI Centre for Research Training in Machine Learning. Brian is also the Director of Training for Krisolis, an Irish data science and AI consultancy and training company. Brian's research interests are in the area of artificial intelligence, specifically interactive machine learning methods that place people, and their expertise, at the centre of the model training process as well as applications of machine learning in diverse fields including agriculture, space, medicine, and virtual reality. He has published widely in these areas and is co-author of the textbook "Fundamentals of Machine Learning for Predictive Data Analytics: Algorithms, Worked Examples & Case Studies" published in 2020 (2nd edition) with MIT Press.
