Brian MacGowan serves as an Extension Wildlife Specialist (0.7 extension FTE; 0.3 research FTE) for the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at Purdue University. Mr. MacGowan provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating state-wide wildlife extension programs that address current wildlife issues, including wildlife habitat management, resolution of human-wildlife conflicts, and general knowledge and conservation of native fauna and their associated habitats. Mr. MacGowan conducts an externally funded research program in the general area of applied wildlife ecology responsive to the needs of the State of Indiana and surrounding region, and in cooperation with faculty and other natural resources professionals. Mr. MacGowan also co-coordinates the FNR extension program. In this capacity, he represents FNR on college extension committees, facilitates collaboration among FNR extension professionals, oversees the RREA program in Indiana, and compiles FNR extension reports for the college, university, USDA, and third party accreditation.
