This position is responsible for market and historical spend analysis of commodities for the purposes of developing appropriate sourcing strategies in acquisition of goods and services in line with the procurement plan, in fair, equitable, transparent, competitive and cost effective manner for Department of Public Works.• Oversee contract review, adjustment and authorisation of variation orders not exceeding 10% of the original contract value. Analyse the market, procurement historical spend and commodity to develop strategic sourcing mechanisms. Manage component’s operational budget and financial assets of the business unit.Approve and authorise purchase order to the value of R 200 000 including VAT.Developing procurement operational plan and management thereof.Develop, implement and manage contracts in line with the department’s procurement strategies/plans. Manage vendor performance and management.Maintain a detailed contracts register for contracts under management;Ensure that all contracts are loaded on Works Information Management System (WIMS)Facilitate the drafting and signing of tender documents and contractsAssess SCM risks and identifying and addressing procedural shortfalls. Supervise and manage resources of the business unit/component.
