I joined the US Army directly out of high school and transitioned out honorably after 8 years as an infantry NCO with multiple infantry based army schools under my belt. I accepted employment with a steel mill in the mid-west while my wife attended college for 4 years. I was laid off during an industry down turn in the mid 90’s and was introduced to the transportation industry when I took a job as a maintenance coordinator for Area Transportation ( a subsidiary of ADS Logistics) for several years. A joint decision between my wife and myself brought us back to California where I was lucky enough to land a job as a service writer with Coast Counties Peterbilt. After several years there, I accepted a position with the US Army as a federal security officer at the Presidio of Monterey ( US Defense Language Institute). I was contacted by Coast Counties Peterbilt when the service manager position opened up and I accepted immediately. I spent 15 years as a service manager, attended many Peterbilt management courses and with the help of Coast Counties staff and techs, produced some fairly profitable results.
