Reporting to Defensive Coordinator Nick Holt, I am responsible for coordinating a full range of logistics for this venerable Big Ten NCAA Division I football team. Day-to-day activities include setting up the appropriate equipment needed for drills, based upon instructions from the Defensive Coordinator, helping run the drills, serving as the “hot signaler” for the middle linebacker, and traveling with the team for all away games, involving coordination of all logistics to ensure a smooth overall operation. Without a doubt, this is a dream job involving a high level of detail orientation, planning, multitasking, and ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.

Reporting to the Inventory Manager of this drug discovery and development services company thatprovides world-class research to the pharmaceutical industry globally, I held a variety of rotationalassignments within the inventory and logistics arena. In addition to the development of a new internal policy to drive quality improvement as described above, I also created a new system to better track and manage parts with the creation of a database in MS Access as well as identify systemic issues with suppliers relative to part inspection failures. An additional highlight involved the preparation and delivery of a status report to everyone in the company. I recommend this internship to future BSIM majors concentrating in Supply Chain who will benefit tremendously from the kind of practical, hands-on experience that BASi provides.

Ensuring that our fraternity sponsored events adhered to all federal, state, local, and University rules and regulations was the chief aspect of this one-year assignment. Highlights included establishing allprotocols to enable house events to take place without incident and maybe more importantly, successfully completing two full fire inspections in a fraternity house with a 65 guy-roster.
