I have been teaching in an IB/CIS/AISA international school (KICS, Sudan) since 2014 and have been forced to leave the country, like so many others, because of the ongoing conflict. I have built many relationships with colleagues, leaders, parents and most importantly, students. I remain in contact with the parents of former students and it gives me great pleasure to hear of their continued successes and fond memories of time spent learning in my class. So much of what we do in life is about building trust through healthy relationships and this is at the very core of education. I’m an honest and dedicated teacher who understands that success can take many forms and often remind students that their progress belongs to them, should never be undervalued and should always be the greatest motivator.
