The early years of my IT career consisted primarily of Systems Administration of VAX/VMS systems. (I fully realize I just dated myself.) Around the same time, I became very interested and involved in Data Center infrastructure, HVAC sizing, fire suppression systems and redundancy.After realizing a passion for people management, I have over many years managed Help Desk, Deskside Support, and most Distributed teams including Windows Server, Unix, Linux, Messaging and Networking. In addition, I manage Telecom and Network vendors, circuit provisioning and contract negotiation.As TNS/Kantar matured and grew, I became closely involved with off-shored teams, establishing and refining policy and procedure, and driving an ITIL framework throughout the support organization. Also during this time, I successfully navigated my teams through multiple company mergers & acquisitions, and we built Kantar IT Partnership into a successful IT shared service organization for all of the Kantar brands.Once outsourced to IBM, my initial focus as a Deskside tower regional lead evolved into Service Delivery Management. I coach off-shored teams, driving major incident P1/P2 resolution, but at the same time being closely aligned with WPP to ensure we as an IBM delivery organization are focused on key customer business objectives. I drive service improvement plans with our resolver teams, and deliver Service Reviews with customer senior leadership including the CIO. Late in 2018, I was elevated to SDM Lead for North America, responsible for a team of 15 senior Delivery Managers.In my spare time, I devote some of my cycles and energy to the world of craft beer. I am a dedicated home brewer, I created a social media group of more than 4000 like-minded beer aficionados, and one day I may pursue my next career in the world of craft beer and brewing.
