As an operations manager I get the opportunity to do for others what was done for me in the past. I am fortunate enough to work with a great team of operations managers and construction managers that take pride in their work and strive to get better every day. However, I am able to work with individuals to work through problems, talk through and plan meetings and learn about internal or external processes. I also get to work with the overall installation team to see the big picture and work toward the larger, regional or corporate goals. I am grateful to still have the opportunity to sit with customers and understand their perspective and then go back and work with our team to make sure we are meeting their needs. My goals in this role range greatly from the obvious financial outcomes of the region to adherence to corporate processes and consistency of performance throughout our region. I enjoy what I do very much and thrive on getting things accomplished and beating expectations.

As a project manager I had the opportunity to work on many exciting projects within the Energy Performance Contracting frame work. Some of the more complex projects that I had worked on included a massive chilled water optimization project at Columbia University where we automated the chillers and the central chilled water system to accurately distribute chilled water to the entire campus. Other projects included EPC wok at several of the, now named, Northwell Health Hospital facilities. Those projects gave me a deep appreciation for the focus and planning needed to work within a health care environment.Having worked on complex projects and been guided by managers that I still refer to as mentors, I developed a passion for the "tough jobs". I take pride in being someone that is looked at when a project is off track or a customer is unhappy and we need to change the plan to complete the project.

Working as a systems estimator for Johnson Controls gave me a foundation in building automation design and installation. I worked on everything from small $20k thermostat projects to very large complex, full building networked systems in New York City exceeding $3 million. I still have a place in my heart and mind for building automation and believe the future of the "BMS system" is endless.
