Develop engineered solutions for complex problems our customers are faced with as they optimize their Metso mining crushers.

In my engineering manager role, I directed technical activities of engineers and designers on maintaining legacy crusher products as well as new research and development projects to modernize machines. I implemented a hybrid project management style consisting of both agile and waterfall project management methodology. I contributed to the migration into a more advanced PDM, requiring much training for the team and error resolution. Along with these challenges I increased the department size and expanded hiring some of my reports from overseas. I also engaged with multiple engineering vendors to expand capacity of the team to deliver faster to market new product developments.

As a senior project engineer, I managed the daily engineering activities for the Engineered Service Solutions business line for Metso, focusing on Classic Cone Crushers.

My role at Metso Minerals was a project engineer in the Services Business Line (SBL). In this position I supported all classic cone crushers; Symons, Gyradiscs, Omnicones and others, that Metso had acquired or previously manufactured and has discontinued production of. Experiences while at Metso included:Failure analysis of major cone components.Classic Cone Crusher product upgrade developments.Project management of multiple group projects.

At Sandvik Mining, I was giving the opportunity to design a rock crusher for the mining market. Experiences while at Sandvik Mining included:Project engineering, ensuring the scope of supply was met for the project.3D design of machine components.Finite element analysis of critical components.Fatigue analysis of high stressed zones of critical components.Power conversion calculations of the machine input power to the machine's working components.Machine design calculations.

At Joy Global, I worked in the structural engineering department. My job activities included:Engineering support of major shovel weldments; car body, revolving frame, crawlers, and boom.Engineering support included primarily solving manufacturing and supplier deviations.New product development on major weldments.Conducted research on fatigue failure of various components.Managed design & detail work of another engineer.

At Metso Minerals, I had the opportunity to design portable crushing, screening and conveying plants for the construction industries.Experiences while at Metso Minerals included:Designed chassis weldments from structural steel for various modes of loading.Redesigned part components for efficient manufacturing, commonality, function and visual quality.Used finite element analysis software to validate designs to prevent failures due to high stress features.Developed standard designs for all conveyors, hand-rails, and chassis.
