I've enthusiastically sought ways to apply technology to whatever challenges I've encountered since I acquired my first computer, an Atari 130XE, at age nine. From a project that learned to play chess in my 7th grade science fair, to undergraduate and graduate electrical engineering degrees, to participation in several open source projects, I am always looking for way to learn about and apply technology.Professionally I have over 20 years of experience writing code, evaluating technologies, architecting systems and developing strategy both as a member of and leading teams. My career has been particularly focused on data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning. In 2007, I co-founded Backstop, one of the first companies to bring AI/ML the practice of law, which required not only novel technological solutions, but new ways to communicate them to a skeptical and conservative legal industry.I am always looking for my next challenge and am consistently intrigued to hear a frustration expressed, as there is almost always an opportunity contained.
