We are a reentry program that begins with a 40-week, peer-led, in-prison program that focuses on character building and preparation for reentry. Upon release, we support all graduates with assistance in housing, job opportunities, transportation and reducing other barriers for success. Our roots are in South Carolina, where the program has graduated 4000+ people with 96% success rate post-release.

Honored to lead a collaboration with agencies across the city committed to ending homelessness. With 80,000+ New Yorkers living in shelters, an additional 4000+ on the street, and countless others on the brink of eviction and hopelessness, we strive to create a city where everyone belongs.Our mission is to end chronic homelessness in New York City through a collaborative offering of compassionate, comprehensive care leading to life transformation.What if we can do more together than we could ever do alone? What if every New Yorker saw our neighbors on the street as people with infinite worth? What if the homeless were empowered to begin a journey of life transformation? Though despair and loneliness often leave our friends feeling abandoned, we believe everyone in our city belongs and deserves to receive compassionate, comprehensive care. Chronic homelessness demands a broad response no single organization can provide on its own. Therefore, Rescue Alliance collaborates with top agencies across the city, offering opportunities for holistic life transformation.

I had the unique opportunity to serve current/formerly incarcerated men/women by helping them 'transform their hustle' from illegal ventures to legal entrepreneurs. I am a champion for the underdog and am a big believer in second chances (or, in many cases, legitimate first chances). While the national recidivism rate sits at 75%, Defy grads boast a recidivism rate of <5% and 95% of all graduates are currently employed. Building the first Defy branch (based in NYC) on the West Coast, I focused on fundraising, recruiting EITs (entrepreneurs in training) and finding partners to help us carry out Defy's mission.After establishing Defy's presence in the Bay Area, I transitioned to become the Director of Live Events for Defy, leading business coaching events and business pitch competitions in prisons across the United States (California, New York, Connecticut, Nebraska, Illinois).

Started a faith community in Manhattan committed to trusting God, loving our neighbor, and serving the world. We began with the 5 members of our family, along with some financial support of churches from around the country, and developed a church based on the life, teachings, and character of Jesus. We started by leading a small group in our apartment and, over the next few years, saw it blossom to multiple services, dozens of small groups, hiring of additional staff, training of future church planters through a Leadership Residency program, and the birth of two new Forefront campuses (UWS and Brooklyn) that shared the same vision, mission, values, and leadership team. With generosity and service as two of our primary values, we gave more than $1,000,000 away to local, national, and global initiatives that focused on justice, church planting, and serving the poor. I had the privilege to serve with some of the best leaders and volunteers in the country, and am thankful for the good work that continues to flow from this dynamic church today.
