Working for the client and part of a project team based in Dubai overseeing the construction of three offshore platforms; The main duties and responsibilities include:Providing HSE support to the QG3&4 offshore project during platform fabrication and pipeline activities from design through fabrication and installation.Ensuring that the components of the QG3&4 integrated project HSE MS are addressed in all phases of the offshore project.Providing HSE input to contracts, contractor evaluation and contract execution. Ensuring contractor HSE MS is consistent with company standards and advising contractor when bridging or mapping exercises are required between the standards.Ensuring timely receipt of contract HSE deliverables. Identify and develop HSE policies and procedures for the offshore project in line with the integrated HSE MS.Conducting contractor site HSE audits including offshore installation vessels.Leading HSE initiatives and programmes to ensure project teams safety is not compromised.Actively encourage project team involvement in HSE during site inspections and through good communication on HSE matters. HSSE Team Leader (Simian, Sienna and Sapphire Development Project)This challenging role on a $600million field development EPIC contract for Burullus Gas Company enabled me to further develop my existing knowledge to the Subsea sector, working with various installation and survey vessels, onshore jacket fabrication, pipe coating and loadout. Initially the role was based in Aberdeen leading to a further on-site posting in Egypt.The main duties and responsibilities include:Verified the effectiveness of the Project HSSE MS against the contract requirements.Determined client and contractual HSSE requirements for the project and ensure these are implemented.Established HSSE Plans and relevant HSSE MS and ER Interface documentation for the project in accordance with corporate systems and contractual requirements.Supervised and Supporting a HSSE team consisting of Egyptian and Expatriate personnel. Audited 3rd Party Contracted Suppliers premises and Management of HSE.Management of sub-contractors (UK & Egypt) HSE performance to comply with the projects commitment to HSE excellence. This included implementing Performance Recognition Schemes and working closely with subcontractors to improve their HSE performance inline with the projects requirements. • From July –99 to March –00 I was SBM’s representative in Singapore working on the Espadarte (tanker conversion) project. This work consisted of ensuring all HSE specific items were correctly installed and commissioned to SBM’s engineering package, in line with relevant codes and standards. • Responsible for writing and setting up the company’s safety management system for this particular unit. • From Singapore the unit was taken and hooked up offshore and during this time my responsibilities were typical of a unit safety officer off-shore.• One major achievement while on this unit was implementing the companies Safety Management System and gaining a Safety and Environmental Classification from DNV in the shortest period of time for the company.

Brazil (Offshore)

• SBMs project was to refit a FPSO vessel which included upgrading production and gas injection facilities in order to hook up off-shore in a record depth of 1500m.• Fire Team Leader, HLO, PTW controller, Fire Team Trainer, Safety Equipment maintenance, incident reporting.

Qatar

Mansals project was to convert a jack up drilling rig to a mobile production unit and to hook up off-shore Qatar. Overseeing all construction activities, I was responsible for setting up a HSE department and implementing a management system for the MODU.

Primarily my responsibilities on this assignment included the authorising, issuing and auditing of permits pertaining to a large offshore construction phase during live operations, whilst carrying out all normal safety activities and training.
