California Olive Ranch is the largest grower, processor and marketer of extra virgin olive oil in the United States. Grower representative will act as a liaison between grower partners and California Olive Ranch. This includes managing grower relationships, contract acquisition, new project development, field quality control, harvest coordination, orchard evaluations, irrigation management, and analyze and collect fruit samples. Specific Duties.• Contracting with growers for the purchase of olives required by California Olive Ranch processing plants to meet the business plan objectives• Selling agricultural services, including: the sale of hedging, harvesting and other customer grower services.• Coordinating the harvesting and delivery schedule of olives in a timely, efficient, and profitable manner.• To work with others to develop and execute the annual Harvest Plan in coordination with trucking, harvesting, processing and marketing colleagues.• Work with others to negotiate and contract with growers, specifying pricing, payment, and other terms and conditions for the purchase of olives.• Perform ongoing grower performance analysis and apply that knowledge to business decisions.• Maintain up-to-date and accurate grower contract databases, as well as field attributes for contracted olive fields, such as fertilizer and water and other chemical applications, plant spacing and density, etc.• Network and cultivate industry and grower contacts to help fulfill future acquisition requirements.• Monitor the performance of trees during the growing season as needed to satisfy relationships with grower partners and satisfy production and quality expectations.• Forward to appropriate colleague’s pertinent information in order to keep our processes flowing.• Work to develop and analyze new olive projects along with other industry contacts• Various orchard management tasks as required by VP of Orchard Operations
