MEET (BRIAN) ►I left University in 2001 with a BSC in Business Information Systems, which I intended to use to kickstart a career in IT but somehow side tracked into roofing and cladding! I’ve worked on both the manufacturing side and contracting side, so have unique insight into how cladding is tested and manufactured as well as how it is designed and installed. Project DraughtsmenHanson Jul 2006 - Apr 2008• Working to engineers and architects drawings, detailing precast concrete flooring and stairs in AutoCAD 2002 while ensuring all drawings comply with building regulations and customer requirements. • Designing concrete flooring to withstand loadings from partition walls, live and dead loads as well as point loads. • Designing concrete stairs using calculation programs to ensure sufficient steel reinforcement is built in to prevent bending, deflection and shear then drawing the rebar for the factory to manufacture from. • Liaising with customers, architects and engineers to ensure all drawings are returned with comments in order to meet manufacturing deadlines and customer delivery dates. -
Sales AdministratorBonar Floors Mar 2004 - Jul 2006• Drawing entrance matwells on Autocad for customers including simple revolving door sections to complicated shaped sections in order to provide accurate quotations for customers. This also includes drawing from scale from customer sketches as accurately as possible as well as including customer logos on the mat to give an accurate representation of how the mat will look. • Deal with incoming enquires for entrance matting by telephone, email and fax. • Prepare and send out quotations requested by customers both UK and export. This includes drawing the sizes on CAD, finding out specifications, liasing with regional sales managers and returning the quote by the date requested by customers. • Building and managing Excel documents to record, monitor and report on quotations sent out, this involved me building the document from scratch with various formules between separate documents and worksheets to allow monthly reporting figures to be accessed. • Help out the IT department when available, including building and maintaining PC’s, replacing broken hardware such hard drives, CD rom drives, RAM etc. Fault finding on colleague PC’s, helping out on simple issues such as basic Microsoft Office support to Windows issues (Printer driver problems, Photoshop support) -
It AdministratorRolls-Royce Nov 2002 - Mar 2004• Designing, building and developing training packages for clients using SAP. • Design and update various aspects of the ERP intranet site, including ensuring training packages built were readily available. Also was asked to build and design various aspects of the site from scratch, dealing directly with customers to find out their requirements. • Initially a temp for 8 weeks at end of 2002 and was invited to go back for a further 10 weeks to help out again and invited back again in June till December to help out once more. • Finished again on 19th December 2003 but was offered another temp position within a different department of Rolls-Royce doing a different job. Currently work for the SAP Data Team doing data clean up within SAP.
