Brian is a litigation partner in Sidley Austin LLP's Washington, D.C. office. He represents clients in government-facing disputes, civil litigation, and appeals. He also provides clients with compliance advice and strategic counseling. Brian has significant experience in government service, most recently as the Principal Deputy General Counsel of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and in senior legal roles in the U.S. Department of Justice. Brian is also a former law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. He lives in Arlington, Virginia, with his wife Tara and their three sons.
