Created and executed a highly successful communication strategy of timely, comprehensive, consistent media engagement and strong personal relationships. Counseled the CEO and other senior leadership, handled media relations, and wrote speeches, op-editorials, news releases, communication plans, and RTQs. Led communications at numerous international air and defense shows, press conferences and media tours of Boeing facilities. Produced Boeing’s first international internal Boeing employee webcast from India. Travelled into the southern Afghanistan war zone with the UK military to write and produce nine videos chronicling the essential life-saving role played by Boeing rotorcraft products, the Chinook CH-47 and Apache AH-64D. Joined Boeing as Director of Communications for Boeing Operations at the Kennedy Space Center and formed a robust communication and community relations team whose efforts earned company accolades in promoting Boeing as NASA’s leading private partner in space. Built strong relationships with NASA, the media, and within Boeing, both at the site and across the country. Notable efforts included NASA coordinated media management and communications following the Columbia shuttle accident in 2003, and a community outreach, “A Day for Brevard Teachers”, a successful educational seminar to inspire teacher/student interest in math and sciences.
