• Consultancy on research and experimental design, data collection, analysis and dissemination of results with Dr Cormac O’Shea, Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Sydney, formerly of the School of Agriculture and Food Science, University College Dublin.

• Ensuring all grant records are up-to-date including grant records in database/GEMS.• Finalising and issuing award letters and overseeing all award acceptance documentation • Managing a system for processing and implementing requests for variations to existing contracts.• Working with colleagues in finance-legal to develop template award contracts for 100+ awards PA • Refining the General Terms and Conditions and Special Conditions to accompany all award contracts.• Implementing SOPs for award set-up, classification, management, compliance and monitoring, .• Coordinating all aspects of the monitoring of research awards in conjunction with Finance-Legal. • Escalation of issues, as required, to the Executive Team and HRB Board.• Preparing summary award material and outputs/outcomes data for corporate reports/ HRB website. • Assisting with the design and implementation interim reviews for large-scale and strategic awards. • Supporting the development and provision of performance indicators for HRB-funded awards.• Developing strategies to improve the quality of award management, monitoring and evaluation. • Ensuring best-practice in award governance processes and procedures.• Working with managers to capture, analyse, report and integrate on-going and discreet monitoring. • Capture of evaluation data to assess the outcomes and impacts of HRB funding.• Engage with external stakeholders around research governance and compliance issues.• Rationalising current data collection systems (GEMS, Outcome Tracker etc)• Working with the team to implement efficient real-time collection of monitoring and evaluation data.

• In vivo animal treatment and in vitro experimentation using rats and rat brain tissue and radioligand and [35S]GTPγS binding techniques. • Molecular biology techniques such as cell culture of bacterial and mammalian cells, DNA transfection, P.C.R., and gel electrophoresis.• Dissemination of research findings via publication in peer-reviewed journals and participation in conferences.• Experimental design, planning, and data collection and analysis, including statistical analysis, • Preparing abstracts and manuscripts for publication in a range of peer-reviewed international journal and completion of Doctoral thesis• Oral and poster presentation to national and international conferences. • The formulation of practical and tutorial content and the delivery of same in a broad range of the pharmacological disciplines.• Delivering lectures, practical demonstrations and tutorials to undergraduate students within the School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science.• Supervision and instruction of both undergraduate and postgraduate members and visitors in our research group
