Security Analyst
Current- Removed over 2,000 - 5,000 security vulnerabilities in a single month by configuring and optimizing the QualysGuard Vulnerability Scanner to identify system security flaws on critical systems. This reduced security risks.- Utilize vulnerability scanning tools such as QualysGuard to identify system vulnerabilities on critical infrastructures as well as develop remediation plans to address risk- Assess vulnerabilities, security controls, and level of residual risk of systems while serving as an advisor on information security matters- Performs detailed vulnerability scans, configure a vulnerability scanner, looked at remediation, and analyze the results to reduce security risks- Follow established procedures to identify information security threats and vulnerabilities and participate in measures required to mitigate them- Effectively communicate and work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment regarding the status of ongoing security incidents and overall information security risk- Effectively respond to incident response and incident investigation by identifying, containing, eradicating and recovering by restoring affected systems and devices back into the business environment.- Protect company assets from known vulnerabilities by installing applicable vendor supplied critical security patches within one month of release- Patch Management: Scan each system for available patches, rank patches, test patchesand apply patches after the testing phase is successful. Audit the rollout of new patches to ensure proper implementation, document patching protocols, and repeat the process on an ongoing basis.
