My core responsibilities are providing leadership to the hygiene and sanitation promotion team in carrying out behavioral change activities within the settlements. I also supervise the hand pump mechanics and water system operators in the daily operation and maintenance of the facilities. My accomplishment to date includes;•Planned and conducted a refresher training for the WASH assistants in CHAST and PHAST methodologies and menstrual hygiene management.•Planned and supported the WASH assistants while conducting training of WASH clubs in 15 primary schools using the CHAST methodology.•Planned and monitored the WASH Assistants while carrying out menstrual hygiene sessions at schools. •Designed and supervised the installation of information, education and communication (IEC) materials on safe excreta disposal, safe water chain and hand washing within the settlements.•Monitored the emptying of latrines in schools, youth/community centres and markets as well as emptying of waste banks at markets within the settlements and host communities.•Supported the WASH Assistants while mobilizing and carrying out bi-weekly clean-up campaigns at water points and settlement markets.•Provided routine support during community sensitization on construction of latrines using dome-shaped slabs•Mobilized and trained youths in casting of dome-shaped latrine slabs for distribution to households

Kaliro, Busaga Region, Uganda

•Led in preparation of procurement plans and budget estimates for rehabilitation works and establishment of new water supply and sanitation systems at both schools and communities. •Developed inclusive boreholes, latrines, rain water harvest systems design and bills of quantities for schools while ensuring conformity to government standards.•Led in conducting participatory needs assessments and guided communities and institutions in expression of interest for water needs and mobilized them to meet the critical requirements as per government policy and to enhance ownership for long term sustainability.•Developed operation and maintenance models for schools that led to establishment of school WASH committees who support in the management of the facilities in all the 20 schools within the area of operation. Provided linkage between the schools and local service providers for routine emptying for drainable latrines.•Led in the development and rolling out of school partnership approach of co-funding (15%) towards construction of drainable latrines and rainwater harvest systems to enhance ownership by stakeholders for long term sustainability. •Facilitated training of water committees in operation and maintenance and resource mobilization through routine user fee collection which saw the opening up on saving accounts by water committees thus improved functionality of water sources. •Carried out quarterly water quality surveillance using the AKVO Caddisfly application•Provided technical leadership to two Junior WASH Technicians while carrying out routine monitoring of community-based structures and facilities as well as prepared and submitted timely weekly, monthly and quarterly narrative reports to management.•Represented Lifewater International in WASH sector fora at Sub Counties and district level as always required.

Abim, Karamoja Region, Uganda

•Led in planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation of both the hard and software activities under the WASH project that included borehole siting, drilling, test pumping, casting and installations and coordinating with local government staffs in training of water committees as well as facilitating hygiene and sanitation promotional activities. •Conducted needs assessments and guided the communities in expression of interest for water needs through the district water department including their mobilization to meet the critical requirements to enhance ownership for long term sustainability. •Coordinated stake holders during site selection, approval of designs and routine monitoring at all critical construction stages to strengthen ownership.•I also planned and coordinated the training of health assistants and community development officers in CLTS and follow up mandona approach which greatly improved their performance. •Coordinated and co-facilitated formation and training of water committees prior to drilling and rehabilitation work as well as in formation and training school health clubs using the CHAST approach. •Carried out routine monitoring of WASH facilities to ensure proper operation, utilization and functionality. Successfully coordinated with the health assistants during sanitation improvement drives using the CLTS approach.•Designed and managed the CLTS data base that was constantly used to measure progress and impact of project.•Participated in the technical review of the inclusive WASH designs that were piloted in Kyangwali Refugee settlement and later taken on in other World Vision programme areas.•Closely supervised contractors during construction of classrooms, staff houses, drainable latrines, dormitories and libraries to ensure adherence to quality and approved designs and specifications.

•Supervised siting, drilling, test pumping, casting and installation of boreholes ensuring quality at all stages. •Facilitated community sanitation meetings, formation and training water committees prior to drilling new water points•Facilitated training of school WASH club members in both community and government aided schools. •Supervised construction of classroom blocks, latrines, staff houses, out-patient department’s and incinerators.•Prepared weekly and monthly progressive project reports and participation in the proposal developments.

Otuke And Bukwo Districts, Uganda

•Trained and supervised masons in construction of iron removal chambers•Designed and supervised the construction of hand dug wells fitted with rope pumps as a low cost technology.•Supervised the construction of animal watering troughs, community cloth washing areas and small-scale irrigation schemes using treadle pumps.•Supervised the drilling, pump testing, casting and installation of boreholes.•Trained hand pump mechanics on repair and maintenance of rope washer pumps and U2/U3 pumps for long term sustainability.•Provided technical oversight to beneficiaries on construction, operation and maintenance of arborloos latrines that was geared towards restoration of the degraded environment. •Coordinated the technical assessment and rehabilitation of Chebenyinyi and Bukwo gravity flow schemes in Bukwo District

•Led in planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting on activities within Adjumani and Palorinya settlements.•Trained community-based hygiene and sanitation promoters in PHAST approach and supervised them while carrying out hygiene and sanitation improvement drives within the settlements. •Supervised contractors during the rehabilitation of institutional latrines including de-sludging and rehabilitation of rain water harvest systems at schools and health centers.•Organised a mid-term knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) survey that helped to inform on impact, prepared and submitted timely weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual narrative reports

Agago & Pader District

•Supervised construction of shallow wells, borehole drilling, test pumping, casting and installation in return villages. •Mobilized, trained hand pump mechanics and supervised them during routine borehole repairs. •Supervised the construction of drainable latrines and rainwater harvest systems at schools and health centers, •Supervised the construction of animal watering troughs at boreholes.•Trained masons in dome-slab casting for household latrines and supported in formation and training of water committees.

Supervised drilling, test pumping, casting & installation of deep boreholes, prepared & submitted completion reports to the clients. This included management of the drilling crew.
