Senior Backend Software Engineer
Software Engineer
Developed high performance Golang APIs, managed the entire CI/CD pipeline, provisioned infrastructure with Terraform, and deployed to scalable Kubernetes clusters with zero downtime. Updated client code and interface layers to support new features. New microservices were developed with high level abstractions to be cloud-agnostic with pluggable dependencies.Implemented a RESTful service to track preemptions/spot interrupts across clouds and prioritize resource allocation in zones with a healthy capacity. This allowed the platform to dynamically avoid zones that would interrupt customer workloads, increasing throughput and decreasing costs. Utilized GCP Stackdriver and AWS CloudWatch Events to activate GCP Cloud Functions and AWS Lambdas that fed the system with data. Included a web UI to monitor events and cloud health.Replaced a legacy Elixir application with a Golang microservice that managed secure file transfers to and from AWS S3 and GCS with abstractions allowing support for additional storage systems. Provided multipart upload functionality in order to bypass a 5GB upload size limit in AWS S3 as customer assets were regularly over 100GB. Updated the customer's client in order to send the proper parts, a python service to secure the backend, and a Golang API that generated signed URLs.Developed a lightweight and performant Golang API to track ephemeral operation status throughout a suite of services using Redis to store data.
Technology Engineer
Automate end-to-end cloud provisioning using a JavaScript based orchestration engine and provide self-service offerings to end users.Established workflows to register all cloud server builds with an enterprise image backup solution.Integrated with a RESTful API to let users manage the entire lifecycle of object storage namespaces with a simple interface.Facilitated storage expansion through additional virtual disks and mount points on Windows and Linux virtual machines.Developed a web application using Python’s Flask framework and WTForms, providing easy customization and advanced form validation that was not previously available.Collaborated with Security, Network, Server, and Mainframe teams to expand discovery from servers to network devices and mainframes, doubling the total device count.Created scripts that mapped dependencies between devices based on network connections and process heuristics to aid in outage impact analysis.
