Brian P. Miranda is a Senior Managing Director - Capital Markets at NewPoint Real Estate Capital which was formerly known as Barings Multifamily Capital. His primary role is to price and trade Agency CMBS for NewPoint. NewPoint provides comprehensive financing solutions to affordable housing, market-rate multifamily, senior housing and healthcare investors and property owners nationwide.Mr. Miranda joined NewPoint and its predecessors in 2012 where he is responsible for structuring Fannie Mae multifamily debt, pricing and trading Agency CMBS. Prior to joining NewPoint, he was with Berkadia and its predecessors since 1994 where he was responsible for deal managing and negotiating the acquisition of more than $100 billion of commercial mortgage servicing rights, as well as purchasing and selling various performing commercial mortgage loan portfolios. In 1997, he joined the capital markets group and migrated to the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lending group where he was one of the key persons in managing the programs. Since 2001, he has traded over $45 billion of Agency CMBS with Wall Street and regional investment banks. Prior to joining Berkadia, Mr. Miranda was a federal bank investigator for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) specializing in pricing and trading residential and consumer performing and non-performing loans, participations and servicing rights.Mr. Miranda has a B.S. degree in Management from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
