I was selected to assist in the implementation of the ORION Project Software in the Southeast Region. This is a 3 year project that will encompass all UPS facilities. We will provide training to all Center management employees on the new systems and parameters. We will also train all Service Providers on new methods and procedures. We will track a set of metrics that we are required to attain prior to the project completion date of each site.

Utilized Dispatch Planning Software to dispatch 70-100 package drivers per day using historical trends and electronic data. Routinely made manual adjustments to the dispatch permitting routes to be added or eliminated based on Paid Hours, Planned Time, Stop Density and Mileage Reduction. Updated the database monthly with new streets and retraced the delivery order in an effort to improve efficiency. I trained 3 part-time supervisors to assist in dispatching using multiple computer systems and processes.

I was selected to work with UPS Corporate IS on a one year field test of the ORION software. We utilized GPS and mapping software to verify and update maps. The software was integrated into the current systems. We tested it daily and provided feedback to the programmers to improve and modify the system parameters. I coordinated the training of all management and hourly employees.

The Preload Assist System is a combination of software programs that allow for the scanning, sorting, loading and dispatching of delivery drivers. I coordinated the implementation at 14 sites in Alabama and the Panhandle of Florida. I had the responsibility of planning and executing the project tasks within the completion timeframe. I coordinated with Plant Engineering and Technology Support regarding facility and equipment modifications necessary to improve production. I developed operating plans that detailed new job assignments and responsibilities. I was responsible for the training of all management and hourly employees on the new systems.

Responsible for the long term and short term planning of 12 Package Centers in North Alabama. Developed Operating Plans for each of the operations detailing the volume, hours, employees, sort spans and specific job assignments. Planned the number of drivers used daily using volume and stop projections, stop density, planned time and stops per hour. Conducted time studies to determine production standards for drivers based on the characteristics of the delivery areas. Developed cost plans for each of the Package Centers and monitored them daily.
