My personal and professional goals have always been to create and improve processes. Throughout my life I see a cool game or an amazing piece of software and say, “Oh, I could also use this to …” Early on I learned a simple fact. All processes need regular review. A great process of yesterday may become obsolete without appropriate change. Critical analysis of any situation is vital for success. I start with intuition (and sometimes just a hunch). Then I look at ways to test the idea. What do I need to learn? What assumptions do I have? What information already exists?I love to create, build, and share information. By middle school, I wanted to be an artist — painter or illustrator. By high school, I turned toward math and science to handle my creative instincts. This passion led me to get a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering. My first job out of college led me to application development to build tools to aid engineering decisions. Business logic contained in software inherently dictate process at a fundamental level. Software improves efficiency by automating the mindless tasks. With all the options of software out there, the next natural place to grow my career was to move to client services -- and even more timely financial services (and customer success). The last 20 years demonstrated the value of creating time for people to make the decisions simple for a person to make, but complex for AI to handle. Out of the service industry as a consultant, I grew to focus on magnifying my talents through building and leading teams.Being a manager is still a wonderfully creative place to be. Regular management/team challenges feed my passion for process improvement. To build a world class team requires being a good mentor and encouraging a learning environment. Mentoring naturally happens through open communication and a willingness to listen and adapt. Listening allows me to empower others to be leaders/implementers/teachers/subject matter experts. Working with others helps to shape individual processes and creates a standard environment where people openly share and review each other's process.My teams are world class consulting, development, and quality assurance groups.
