I have enjoyed a career in graphic design since the 80’s, when paste-up made me a master of the Exacto knife. Thankfully, waxers and typesetting have been replaced by my Mac and the Adobe Creative Suite. I have been fortunate to work for a variety of companies, and an even larger variety of freelance clients, from whom I have learned to be a resourceful, results-driven designer. I have been a Creative Director for many years and enjoy the challenge of leading a creative team, inspiring them to push their creative limits and bringing out their best. Developed and maintain online eco-lifestyle magazine, working directly with the Editor in Chief to produce videos, articles, interviews, podcasts, photoshoots, email campaigns and all visual content on the site.

Direct Response TV Advertising and Program Fulfillment - Creative Director; Hired and managed a diverse department that produced various creative projects, such asinstructional design, video production, and web programming for our customized “module”tutorials; design and web programming for all curriculum tools; design and implementation ofall program training print materials; as well as all audio recording and video productionneeds.Programs include the nationally broadcast and top-selling “John Beck’s Free & Clear RealEstate System”, as well as programs for other nationally recognized gurus Jeff Paul, JohnAlexander, Michelle Boudreau and Cleo Katz. I worked directly with each guru developingeverything from logo design, interactive web site and video production, to wide variety ofprinted collateral.

Managed a staff of in-house and freelance designers developing custom products and thedesign of imported souvenir merchandise for one of the world’s largest distributors ofproducts ranging from post cards and shot glasses, to book publication. Other responsibilitiesincluded managing the development and execution of creative concepts and new products fora vast and varied list of clients worldwide, working directly with Chinese suppliers, andattending trade shows. Budget planning, market research, project tracking, talent acquisitionand marketing were also my responsibility.

Created and managed in-house advertising agency (Modern Image Advertising) serving over1,200 southwestern T-Mobile dealers with co-op advertising in print, radio and television.Placed all media buys, developed marketing strategies and designed ads for individual dealersas well as MGM (Master Agent) for a wide variety of publications. I was responsible forplanning, designing, buying and billing for over $250,000 worth of advertising per month.I was also responsible for the design of all flyers, sell sheets, accessory package designs, product photography, company newsletter, logos and any other needs of the company for print and web.

Successfully created, implemented and managed in-house graphics department, replacing anetwork of out-sourced freelance artists, thereby reducing the company's annual expenses fordesign and related services by over $110,000.00 in the first year. It was my responsibility torecruit, train and supervise an in-house design team as well as research, evaluate and acquirethe services of optimum value vendors. Other duties performed included:- Coordinating vendor relations, tracking and follow-through of services- Performing all aspects of design for VHS, DVD and audio CD/cassette packaging,imprints, labels, multi-packs, etc.- Conception, compilation, research, design, proofing, specification conformity,budgeting, contract/licensing compliance, quality assurance- Scheduling and direction of photo shoots and stock photography acquisitions- Acting as creative liaison for licensors and licensees- Creating corporate/product branding and logo designs, sales support materials,catalogs, product advertisements, broadcast announcements, sell sheets, P.O.P.displays/headers, mock-ups, posters, trade-show presentation materials, electronicfiles, website catalog- Creating company web site strategy, design, updates, maintenance and activityanalysis- Copy writing of press releases, artist biographies, sell sheets, presentation materials,advertisements- Closely interacting with production/operations/sales staff, vendors and customersensuring that stringent deadlines and production schedules were met.

Created and managed in-house graphics department for National Top 100 Consulting Firm. Iwas responsible for the acquisition, implementation and maintenance of all computerequipment, software and design department supplies. I met with consultants and their clientsto discuss design needs.
