Responsible for managing and leading all shrinkage reduction efforts within St. John’s retail division. Investigates suspicious activities (internal and external) concerning the disappearance of inventory, money or assets of the Company.Administers shortage control and loss prevention programs in stores to meet the Company's inventory shortage goals. Provides verbal and written corrective action steps the store locations can take to prevent future losses. Administers the Loss Prevention Audit Program to ensure frequency of audits is maintained and compliance levels meet Company guidelines.

Analyzed data from reporting tools to identify internal theft and initiate investigations for 35 locations. Works closely with senior leadership on organized retail theft and internal theft investigations. Apprehends shoplifters, while completing thorough incident and investigation reports-including working with local law enforcement, complying with and preparing for all court appearances.

Created and enforced shrinkage prevention, training and awareness programs that effectively lowered loss in each location assigned—including Metro Pointe Rack, Montclair, Santa Anita and South Coast Plaza. Recruited, hired, developed and trained loss prevention direct report staff of eight. Trained and cultivated department managers through New Manager Development. Prepared and managed annual loss prevention department budget of over $300,000. Oversaw physical security for, and monitoring access to, up to $6 million dollars in cash and/or jewelry. Conducted investigations involving external and internal theft or fraud, while assisting law enforcement personnel with case preparation, investigation and prosecution. Researched and reviewed customer complaints and suspicious account activity, including lost and/or stolen card reports while maintaining data integrity. Managed resolution and recovery efforts. Maintained statistical records, spreadsheet data and audits of all loss prevention activity for the highest volume location—generating nearly $200 million in revenue annually. Created and executed safety plans to maintain a safe environment for customers and employees including emergency preparedness and safety drills. Received the Brian Hart Legacy Corporate Award for Outstanding Performance and Leadership for 2005; and the Leader of the Quarter Award, Orange County Region for 2008 3rd quarter; consistently in the top quartile of corporate loss prevention ranking report.

Conducted investigations through surveillance, both camera and floor observations for potential theft indicators. Detected, apprehended and interviewed external theft suspects. Enforced safety and security rules and guidelines while supporting the Loss Prevention Manager Shrinkage programs.

Responded to and extinguished on-board fires and other hazardous material situations on ship of over 3,000 sailors during the Gulf War. Inspected ship for potential indicators of fires, utilizing extensive military-based training in fire sciences. Responsible for hydrostatic testing hoses for pressure and heat. CPR certified and trained in safety awareness.
