As the designated Anti-terrorism Officer, I have been responsible for all aspects of the Anti terrorism (AT) program to include developing, prioritizing, coordinating and overseeing the implementation of the command's long-range budgets, plans, policies and programs designed to meet DoD and Department of Army (DA) and higher headquarters security and AT related regulations. Although principally responsible for AT and physical security functions, I also oversee and provide authoritative guidance in security operations involving information security (INFOSEC), operations security (OPSEC), intelligence coordination, and law-enforcement matters. To a lesser extent, I am familiar with personnel security regulations and foreign disclosure policy and provide initial guidance and coordination support. In security/AT related matters, routinely represents the commander in official forums and liaises with the SDDC G34 Protection Division Program management staff and a wide range of DoD commands, agencies and non-DoD activities involved in security and AT missions. Acting as the BDE S-2, I deal with a multitude of tasks and duties to include representing the BDE as the Emergency Manager with the 733rd Mission Support group/Joint Base Langley-Eustis during 2017/2018 Hurricane Season.
