Database Admin Senior Manager
CurrentOversees the day-to-day application support and infrastructure activities for an Oracle RAC database (600+ TB; 19c EE) in a Unix environment. I manage a team to support application business inquiries revolving around the system and technical support (troubleshooting application exceptions, performance tuning) to ensure the application is meeting SLAs. This also includes, engagement with vendors and service providers to review analysis on potential service issues and how to mitigate efficiently.Key technical Activities that I was instrumental in supporting:1. Recent upgrade from Oracle 12c to 19c for Production database. It took weeks of planning and over 16 hours to perform the upgrade. Fallout was minimal, yet a few SRs with Oracle were utilized to resolve select query performance issues that were mitigated quickly.2. Storage Frame migration from two frames to one for improved performance. Had issues with moving redo logs and undo, which required additional planning with vendor and testing to ensure actions reduced impacts to the system, along with careful coordination.3. Server OS upgrades and performance tuning for the same. This required careful coordination over a 3 month period to gradually upgrade the OS of the database and adjust several parameters to ensure performance matched what we had in previous version. This was from SLES 11.4 to 12.5.Upgrade from Informatica PowerCenter 10.2 to 10.4. Provided input to junior team to implement the upgrade plan and review as it progressed. Upgrade was seamless.
