IBM Executive responsible for overall general Management of an I/T consulting and professional services business unit across Canada. I had full P&L accountability for all aspects of the business unit including sales, delivery, marketing, customer satisfaction, solution design and offering optimization. I led a team of Engineers, I/T Architects, Project Managers, Project Executives, Technical Consultants and Sales Consultants including first line managers.

Practice Leader for an IBM I/T consulting and professional services business My role included accountability and responsibility for offerings, sales model coverage, skills and capacity, routes to market, pipeline management, marketing, solution design and overall profitability. Under my leadership this practice grew from $28M to over $60M in less than 18 months.

Responsible for all aspects of IBM’s Infrastructure practice for Western Canada. My responsibilities included : Developing strong client relationships; Managing opportunities and assigning resources accordingly; Managing practice and business results including engagement deliverables, client satisfaction and profit; Managing pre-engagement work including defining and closing opportunities; Determining engagement scope, pricing and cost projections, and formulating initial solutions; Mentoring individuals and teams; Developing practitioner skills; Effectively working within IBM Global Services and across all appropriate IBM units

My specific responsibilities included managing a large portfolio of non-base services for IBM Global Services within the Financial Services and Insurance industries. I led a national team across all the business units within IBM consisting of Project Managers, Technical Architects and IT Specialists in order to provide successful solutions to the customer. I continued to focus on establishing and maintaining a results oriented environment and ensured a consistent adherence to the project management methodology. Other responsibilities included project initiation and qualification, high level requirements and scope definition, contracting, conducting solution assurance reviews, delivery management, consulting with the customer on areas of continuous improvements, communication management, project delivery and customer satisfaction.

Project Manager on various large IT Infrastructure projects spanning multiple industries in Canada. Utilizing the IBM best practices for Project Management, I have demonstrated and applied a strong practical understanding in project management processes resulting in high customer satisfaction. I have managed large teams of IT Professionals (100+) that interfaced with multiple organizations within IBM and various subcontractors. Most of these projects spanned the various phases of the System Development life cycle including requirements definition, back end interfaces, networking, systems management and deployment. Despite the complex scope and aggressive timelines, my projects were all delivered ahead of schedule and under budget with exceptionally happy clients.

Programmer in IBM’s Client Server Solutions team. I worked on many application development projects utilizing the latest client/server technology at the time. I was involved in all phases of the project including requirements analysis, system and detailed design, prototyping, and the actual coding of the system.
