As the Injection Molding Process Engineer, my primary duties are to trial and validate new projects before being launched into production using data-driven scientific molding principles. Mainly focused on tight tolerance parts with difficult-to-mold geometries in the medical, military, and industrial sectors. I also perform and a multitude of other duties that include but are not limited to; Work directly under VP of Operations and tooling engineers to develop the most robust molding process using the latest technologies such as Moldex3D mold flow analysis.Perform DOE and PPAP runs for the quality engineering, which then can use multiple advanced measurement methods to provide feedback, such as CT Scanning, which provides a highly detailed 3D model from molded parts that can be used for comparison and measurements.Work with customers as needed to provide process and part details.Implement and trial new continuous improvement items and projects.

As the Tooling Coordinator, my responsibilities included but weren't limited to;Schedule all preventative maintenance and upkeep on all molds. Assign all scheduled work to a team of three toolmakers based on the production schedule, focusing on having all +90% continuous work order completion rate in our maintenance management software.Track and maintaining tooling component inventory using our maintenance management software. Ordering and working with vendors to keep stock of all critical mold components.Act as liaison between tooling engineering and the toolmakers, providing technical mold details as needed to the toolmakers, such as; Creating 3D models and Prints in SolidWorks and Autodesk Fusion 360, obtaining technical files from the engineering department, work directly with vendors to get technical documents and details for different auxiliary systems (e.g., Husky Hot Runner Systems)Perform preventative mold maintenance and record detailed reports on work orders.Modify and make new mold components as needed by way of milling, turning, and grinding operations.

As a Process Technician, my duties included by weren't limited to the following; Set production mold, set up all auxiliary equipment as necessary. Some of the types of equipment were thermolators, hot oil units, multiple types of hot runner and valve gate systems, sprue pickers, and 3 and 6 axis robots.Start-up production and sample jobs; assisting the engineering department as needed and verifying all parts met approve quality specifications using tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, and visual measurement systems.Document process setup sheets when needed using Microsoft Excel.Troubleshoot jobs by identifying the root cause of defects, using scientific molding principles to make the necessary adjustments to correct the defect.

• Verify correct set-up of molds, presses, and auxiliary equipment before machine start up.• Make sure all parts were running to quality specifications, and making the appropriate adjustments to the process as necessary.• Obtain quality sign off on parts at the end of every job and the start of new jobs after either a tool, or color change.• Assist with the set-up and maintenance equipment, including granulators, conveyors, liquid temperature controls, and mold electrical controls.• Help relieve other Process Technicians for breaks and Floor Supervisor with Inspector/Packer breaks and fill in during personnel shortages.• Maintaining records and preparing legible reports, including Pre-Operation check sheets, 4M Root Cause Analysis sheets, making sure grinder and dryer tags were attached to ensure the proper grinder was at the appropriate press and the appropriate dryer was with the correct material as well as answering NOC's (Notification of Change and/or Concern) issued by the Supervisor.• Work with limited supervision and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation between shifts, quality and maintenance departments as well as management to facilitate departmental goals.• Experience with M2K Boss and the Syscon Plantstar Systems.
