I'm currently a Lab Liaison, most recently I was the Technical Support Coordinator for Chesapeake Optical lab (EssilorLuxotica), formerly Spectera Vision Lab (United Healthcare) providing IT and Lab Management Systems support for the manufacturing and office sides of the lab. I loved it and once I had a taste for officially being a go-to person for tech support I was hooked. I'm looking for work in helpdesk support.I'm an ABO-certified optician with over fifteen years of experience in the field from dispensing and fitting, repairs, bench work, final inspecting, blocking, and working with shape archives and frame databases. I love working in the Optical industry, while I enjoyed educating patients and explaining the features and benefits of various eyewear options (I don't hard-sell, I educate) I feel more at home behind the scenes working with my hands and troubleshooting.I've always enjoyed technology and building computers most of my life. I recently (as of May 2024) completed a 6-month course online for Google IT Support Professional certification. I plan to go for my CompTIA A+ certification (and then either networking or cloud support) soon.In my free time, I enjoy hiking, foraging, camping, kayaking, board and roleplaying games, auto repair, playing bass, and relaxing with my wife and dogs.
