Main role while serving as a police officer is to uphold the law, serve and protect citizens, and work to ensure public safety. Daily patrol of a city precinct and maintain public order. Daily usage of city computer systems to complete reports of crimes and other police related investigations. Familiarity with evidence preservation and the submission of said items to the city’s property control room. Have worked mainly as a patrol officer, but also worked for approximately one year in a plain clothes unit, focusing on high crime areas within the city’s north side precincts. Awarded Chief’s Commendation for work with the plain clothes unit responsible for over 100 felony arrests related to drug and gun crimes. Awarded Medal of Merit for performing an act which preserved or attempted to preserve a human life with a significant risk of personal harm above and beyond the criteria for the First Aid/Lifesaving Award.

Policies and procedures are implemented to carry out authorized National Security functions for civil service and National Security positions for the United States Office of Personnel Management. Responsible for the investigation of applicants as well as current Federal employees for security clearances through record searches and face-to-face interviews. Organizational and time management skills are incorporated into the daily work function. Advanced communication in both oral and writing skills are utilized on a daily basis through subject interviews and written reports. Law checks and various other forms of record verification are incorporated into the daily workload. The use of computers and the ability to efficiently type reports are integrated into the investigations.
