I am a licensed clinical psychologist, public speaker, and author. Though a good bit of my time is focused on writing, lecturing, and research, I have always maintained a private practice consisting of therapy, diagnostic assessment, I specialize in rare and unusual conditions, personality disorders, and sleep disorders. I also occasionally provide expert witness testimony for legal cases involving my areas of expertise.I have four academic books currently available through Oxford University Press: Sleep Paralysis; Unusual and Rare Psychological Disorders; and Psychodynamic Therapy Techniques. My first popular press book, Monsters on the Couch: The Real Psychological Disorders Behind your Favorite Horror Movies, is available through Chicago Review Press.Along with professional lectures and presentations, I enjoy science dissemination, and a frequent lecturer in the US and abroad.
