Over thirty years’ experience in piping and facilities engineering, design, construction, completion and commissioning of Upstream and Downstream facilities in the Oil and Gas Industry in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.Since 2002 exclusively engaged as Client (Company) Piping and Mechanical Engineering Representative on major EPCI Projects. Previous positions include Lead Piping Engineer (Topside Construction), Lead Piping Engineer (Detail Design), Piping Facilities and Implementation Engineer (offshore and onshore based), Piping Design and Layout Engineer, and Piping Field Engineer on both offshore and onshore facilities.Roles include key positions on all phases of Greenfield and Brownfield projects from FEED, through to offshore installation, hook-up and commissioning.Extensive experience as Client Representative in the technical and contractual management of EPCI Contractors to deliver major EPCI Projects. This involved successfully working across challenging multi-cultural interfaces and establishing sound and trusted working relationships with Contractor Engineers and Management. Fluent in all aspects of piping and platform conceptual and detail design, layout, construction (including HSE, mechanical handling, and constructibility), and commissioning, supported by a comprehensive understanding of process platform technical and operational requirements and philosophies established by extended time spent offshore on operational facilities.Comprehensively experienced in the use and understanding of ASME, ASTM, API, DNV, NACE and NORSOK Codes and Standards as they apply to the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry, and including coordination with the applicable regional regulators, and Independent Classification and Validation bodies.Development of Piping, Valve and Static Equipment design, materials, fabrication, installation, and testing specifications and procedures, and their successful implementation.Piping construction coordination and oversight of pipe spool fabrication, piping erection and testing progress and monitoring, and including piping test pack development and review.Development of procedures for Nitrogen-Helium testing, Chemical Cleaning, and Flange and Valve Management, and the management, coordination, and completion of the associated campaigns.Experienced in all aspects of static mechanical equipment fabrication and testing including installation, inspection, and preservation, as well as technical support for the pre commissioning and commissioning of process and utility piping systems.
