I started my actuarial career as an intern in the summer of 2002, joining the company full time in January of 2003 in a life pricing role. Since that time I have done most everything an actuarial employee could do in the life insurance area, from pricing, financial reporting, valuation, forecasting, experience analysis and model development. I had a great opportunity in 2012 to create and lead the centralized model development group in corporate actuarial where I was able to expand my knowledge base to include annuities and retirement plans business, as well as all the other facets of the business in which we participate. In September 2016, I moved back to the line of business, in life insurance, to lead the Performance Management and Analysis team for our individual and corporate life insurance areas, focusing on financial reporting and forecasting. In addition to traditional reporting and forecasting, I have had a great opportunity working across business functions on large tier 1 initiatives and play a role in strategic analysis. In 2018, I added additional scope to the team, taking on life insurance in force profitability management and analysis to meet the growing demands of regulatory and environmental challenges the life insurance industry faces.
