During my time in Grasslands I have taught mandated music, band and choral curriculum to students in four different schools ranging from Kindergarten to grade twelve. My experience includes elementary music (including Orff) and recorder), junior high and senior high concert band, junior high and senior high jazz band and choir. I have created long range plans, unit plans and lesson plans and assess the progress of students using genuine assessment of learning, and, for learning strategies. I created a safe, diverse, challenging learning environment where students can thrive while exploring their potential in the performing arts. I organized local performance opportunities, provincial and international band trip experiences and assisted in creating the Newell County Band Association, a government recognized support group for band students in the County of Newell. I have also taught various other subject areas when they were assigned, including science, math, and PE.
