4 years in the US Air Force, after USAF went to work in RR car repair shop. Learned to weld and repaired different types of rail cars. Worked at Lone Star Steel which was a large steel mill in East Texas but layoffs where too common so started working for a metal building erector in Longview. Made a move to Houston in 1984 and continued in the metal building construction for Crisp & Associates. Did a few years traveling around the US as an Iron Worker and then permanently set the roots back in Houston. Remained with Crisp & Associates for several more years and was recruited by Armco Steel/Greens Port Industrial Park in 1998. Construction and maintenance in the beginning were my main fields but became involved in the rail operations and track maintenance. I was also in charge of operations, and maintaining the deep water and barge docks. After 15 years at GP and new management, I returned to Crisp & Associates where I began estimating and overseeing the operations along with starting a separate division including partnership. My skills include the ability to comprehend and execute the complete project on hand from the beginning thought process, including planning and scheduling, budgeting and tracking, ability to overseeing and of course hands on skills needed to make a difference in the positive outcome.
