I started as a volunteer for AWC in 2012 and since then have moved up the ranks to Stewardship Director and Deputy Director of Wild Arizona. Wilderness advocacy work brought me to senators’ offices in D.C., I have been featured in interviews with NPR & the Wilderness Podcast, and my stories highlighted in several newspaper publications. In 2016, I developed and launched AWC’s Veterans in Wilderness Program, providing veterans educational opportunities surrounding an assortment of conservation activities and just this year through the Great American Outdoors Act we will be employing a group of Veterans fulltime to focus on the vast amount of trail projects across AZ. I have an extensive background in research including fire ecology monitoring and riparian restoration, encompassing research design, data collection, and spatial analysis in various ecosystems. Today, I continue to design, organize, and implement a wide assortment of restoration projects across AZ, continually finding unique ways to increase our capacity, while engaging as many people from all backgrounds as possible.
