Growing up I always had a knack for problem solving and exploring the mechanisms behind how things work. I spent a lot of my childhood tinkering away in my garage. I took apart many of the toys and gadgets my parents bought me fabricating new "inventions" that consisted of rubber band guns, an electric shock pen, and even a bow and arrow. When I was 12 years old, I was introduced to my first programming tutorial on Code Academy. I was immediately hooked. Having the ability to forge whatever I could think of by simply writing out a couple lines of code seemed magical. I found the largest appeal was being able to choose how I made things. I wasn't limited to one solution, but left to my own creativity to solve problems and create algorithms on my own.
