These activities are performed by a team of engineers who are managed by the Space Surveillance and Intelligence Manager (SSIM). Major tasks include:• Responsible for all mission planning and flight dynamics activities for the SKYNET fleet, scheduling of all platform and payload activities including management of weekly operations schedule, management/population of task scheduler for autonomous procedure execution, producing weekly and quarterly spacecraft reports, orbit determination and ephemeris dissemination, manoeuvre planning, event prediction and propellant estimation.• Point of contact within Airbus D&S for all SSA activities, including conjunction assessment/close approach analysis, radio interference analysis (RFI) and space weather and environment.• Participation in international events promoting Airbus D&S expertise in the field SSA. Flight Dynamics Manager
Responsible for all Flight Dynamics and Mission Analysis deliveries from the spacecraft manufacturer, as well as advising the SKYNET 5 Engineering, Operations and Programme Management teams. Also provided specialist Flight Dynamics/Orbit Analyst Support to Paradigm Services for the SKYNET 4 fleet. This position consolidated previous Flight Dynamics and Mission Design experience into a single role, requiring a disciplined approach to managing multiple projects and spacecraft families.
Lead Mission Analyst And Flight Dynamcist
Responsible for the mission design of the SKYNET 4 Stage 2 fleet, including the Flight Dynamics activities during the LEOP, which required a comprehensive knowledge of orbital mechanics and spacecraft manoeuvre operations. Software evaluation and detailed code and algorithm understanding in numerous languages was essential to enable advanced programming for development of analysis tools.
