Brian is the Managing Principal and a Founding Principal of the Birmingham office of EPIC Insurance Brokers. He is responsible for managing his book of business, recruiting, sales and growth strategy and the overall P&L. Mr. Tanner is celebrating his 25th year in the Insurance and Risk Management industry (2024). Brian's focus is on larger and more complex risks with a concentration in working with energy construction and industrial construction/service companies providing creative solutions to improve his client's risk management program and bottom line. Brian's client focused approach has allowed him to partner with business owners and executives spanning the nation. His strong work ethic and client dedication drives him to understand the details of his clients operations and provide creative solutions for key business issues his clients face on a daily basis. Brian was honored to be selected as a Power Broker by Risk and Insurance Magazine in 2017 and 2021. Prior to joining EPIC, Brian was a Producer, Executive Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors at Cobbs Allen based in Birmingham, Alabama from 2001 to 2014. His diligent work and persistent effort to perfect his trade earned him opportunities to climb the ranks at Cobbs Allen. He was consistently one of Cobbs Allen's top performers, led the company's validated producers (Sr. Producers) and was responsible for founding the company's pipeline construction effort. Brian started his insurance and risk management career in 1999 with Arthur J. Gallagher in Nashville, TN and achieved AJG's top sales club, the Century Club, his first year in the business. After being with AJG for 13 months he earned the opportunity to transfer to Birmingham to open AJG's first office in Alabama. Brian graduated from the University of Alabama in 1998. He is married to his wife of 22 years and has four children. When Mr. Tanner isn't working he enjoys hanging out with his family, going to the lake, hunting with his kids, cycling and racing cars.
