About Brian Thornton

In 1997, I began focusing on building energy efficiency and continued with LEED buildings, commercial solar, and building energy codes as a professional mechanical engineer, no longer active. My focus now is solving rapid climate change working for the Citizens' Climate Lobby a non-partisan, non-profit with over 200,000 members. My work is to build support among community leaders for effective, efficient and equitable climate change policy. We focus on national legislation for a carbon fee and dividend which is the most powerful way to help tackle climate change. In 2021, I joined the NDEP Partners for a Sustainable Nevada project, and now lead its climate team working on climate policy solutions and which sponsors the Nevada Climate Forum.
